The lower of Lough Derg is the ideal base for fishing a lot of spices, including wid brown trout, sea trout & salmon, pike & course fish. Many anglers from different countries all over the world come back to this very place every year to fish. Boat rental available.

Lough DERG: This is the largest lake on the Shannon system covering some 29,000 acres, and it’s a good mixed fishery for Salmon, Trout, Pike & Coarse. It’s a must for the big hunter. Lough Derg is an angler’s paradise, with good stocks of large pike, perch, tench, wild brown trout, good bream, rudd, roach, hybrids, & salmon. The average weight of Trout are around 2 lbs, although some good fish are caught using the dapped Mayfly. Fishing is free, but you’ll need a licence if you want to fish salmon. Regulations Fly fishing for pike has also become more and more popular on Lough Derg.
